The IMC Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1966, has stood tall as a pioneering platform for women. What began as a small forum under the aegis of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber has today blossomed into India’s oldest and most dynamic women’s business organization – a movement that has inspired countless similar initiatives across the nation.
With a vibrant membership of more than 2,500 accomplished women – entrepreneurs, professionals, corporate leaders, academicians, bankers, journalists, artists, social activists, and homemakers – the Wing reflects the power of collective wisdom and shared vision. Each member brings her unique perspective, strengthening the Wing’s legacy of enterprise, leadership, and social transformation.
At its heart, the Wing is dedicated to nurturing and empowering women entrepreneurs. Through seminars, conferences, industry visits, delegations, and exchanges with leaders from government, industry, and international institutions, it equips women with the tools, resources, and networks they need to thrive. For decades, it has served as a launchpad for women to innovate, create, and lead with confidence.
Beyond business, the Wing has been a force for social change. Partnering with NGOs across India, it has championed initiatives in education, healthcare, vocational training, livelihood development, sanitation, and hygiene – uplifting women, youth, and children in both urban and rural communities.

The IMC Ladies’ Wing also proudly serves as the custodian of the IMC Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar. By instituting this prestigious award, the Wing carries forward the legacy of Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj, celebrating women entrepreneurs whose enterprises bring dignity and opportunity to rural India.
